A quiet nightcap at Door Knock was outstanding. Follow a darkened corridor to a basement venue lends itself to the added drama of arriving at this cloistered space. Drinks were luscious and worth returning for. My thanks, Federico (the bartender)!

What a great speakeasy cool and intimate bar Door knock is. Such a hidden gem and a great find on Pitt St. You will find it located down a basement area and when you reach the red door, knock the pineapple door knob 3x to gain entry. I loved the mysterious and cosy atmosphere. The music was great too and at the right level to still be able to have a conversation. The bar staff are so welcoming and friendly and the wine and and champagne selection is great too. Perfect for a date, and after work drinks with friends. If you’re looking for a bar with a great vibe don’t miss this hidden gem.

Stumbled across this little gem of a place in the city. Very discreet entrance on Pitt St and a long, candle-lit tunnel to the Doorknock door! Well worth the adventure to get there. Excellent cocktails, good food and tidy, professional service. Doorknock was characterful and welcoming. I’m looking forward to introducing it to friends - it is a worthy member of the vibrant small bar scene in Sydney

It's a deep basement! It's fun walking down the stairs that's long that makes you question if it ever ends for a second. Classy ambiance with comfy chairs and tables. Try watching Heretic (2024) and go down hang out at the Door Knock! Remember, the door will open only when you knock! 🚪✊️ Knock properly so the Pineapple 🍍 let you in!

Their lunch special is worth it. But what made the experience even better was Federico - the most attentive, thoughtful and happiest staff! You can sense that he truly enjoys his work. He totally made our day and knows exactly what customer service means! A lot of people who work in F&B could learn a thing or two from this guy. He's a gem!

I had such a great experience at Doorknock. From the moment we walked in down the long narrow corridor to the underground entrance, the atmosphere instantly transported us to New York - moody lighting, stylish interiors and that buzzing, energetic vibe that makes you want to stay all night. The food was outstanding, every dish was divine and beautifully presented. The drinks were just as impressive with a great wine and cocktail selection. The staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. They created such a relaxed yet vibrant vibe that made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for amazing food, great drinks and an atmosphere that feels like a night out in NYC right in Sydney, then this is the spot. Can't wait to go back.

It’s one of those hidden gems in Sydney that you might miss if you don’t check the map twice! Walk down the stairs and through the corridor until you reach the beautiful red doors — that’s where the magic begins. The atmosphere is incredible: dark, moody, and effortlessly sexy. Perfect for a first date or an intimate night out. The drinks were fantastic, and we shared a little cheese platter (which I forgot to photograph — sorry!). It was absolutely lovely. Definitely a must-try spot!
